Obama vs the Jews: a triple threat

So my mother recently wrote a long, long, long article on Obama for the newspaper she works for, the Chicago Jewish News. She didn’t interview him for it, but she’s interviewed him in the past – she said he was very nice (I threw that in solely to brag, yes). Although she is a professional and was careful not to make it super pro-Obama, the fact is that most people in the Jewish Chicago world she writes about are pretty pro-Obama, and the article reflected this. (Her daughter is not, but she didn’t let that get in the way of her professional duties either.)

Of course, the crazy right wing Jews came out in force. Right wing Orthodox Jews are not my people – they are just as insane as Evangelical Christians, and as far as I’m concerned, they are meant for each other.

I’m going to reprint – without comment – the most mind-blowing, most terrifying, most obnoxious letter below. Her boss wrote a really great response, so be sure to read that too.

([sic] throughout!)

I am visiting from Israel (am a former Chicagoan) and I was aghast at seeing the August 22nd edition of the Chicago Jewish News.

For weeks and months I have been writing to everyone NOT to vote for Obama. And now I see that you spend an entire issue of the paper promoting him to all of Chicagoland Jewry. How can you as a Jew, promote a man who is a triple threat to the Jewish people – he’s black, he’s Christian, and he’s Moslem (no matter how much he denies it – no one has a name Hussein who is not a Moslem). All three of these HATE the Jews, no matter how much Obama denies it, and will stab us in the back whenever the opportunity arises, as past experience has shown. Whenever the blacks have rioted in the past, Jews are the first to get hurt. And what do you think will happen if, G-d forbid, Obama gets to be president? Widespread rioting.

How can you advocate to your people to commit suicide? It wasn’t enough that black Condoleezza Rice has been trying for years in the worst way to make us in Israel give up our land to our worst enemies, now you advocate that you have a black American president, who won’t rest until he, G-d forbid, puts utmost pressure on us to do the same.

Obama has NO experience to be president, just because he speaks correctly, has a wife who is educated and a radical leftist, does not give him the right to be president of the United States. How stupid can the American Jewish community be to vote for such a man? What does he know to lead the free world – 143 days total in the Senate? Did you promote him because he’s a fellow liberal Democrat and/or because he’s from Chicago??? It’s sick when the Jews, like you, have to be dyed-in-the-wool Democrats and not judge a person for who he is and what qualities he has to be president, and if a Republican is better qualified then vote for him. Unfortunately, in Israel we have to vote for a party, not a qualified individual.

I hope your readers have more common sense than you do, and use their G-d given brains not to be sucked into liberal media propaganda and lies, and G-d forbid vote for Barack Obama, just because he has a Jewish-sounding name and has charisma. And his running mate, Joe Biden, is certainly not a Jew-lover, nor a lover of Eretz Yisrael.

By the way, just for the record, there is no such entity as a “Palestinian” people. It was a term made up by our arch-enemy Arafat, may he rot in hell, in the 1960’s, to give himself a people to be the head of. “Palestinians” are none other than plain old Arabs living in the State of Israel. G-d gave the land of Israel to the Jewish people. The Arabs have more than 22 other large countries to live in. We have ONE small one. The part of Eretz Yisrael (or a “Palestinian” state) for the Arabs is called (Trans) Jordan. Actually we are all Palestinians, everyone who lived in Palestine, as Israel was called till 1948, is a Palestinian, that includes all the Jews and other peoples, too!!! Negotiating with the “Palestinians” is like negotiating with a ghost. We have no objection to Arabs, Christians and all other peoples living in the State of Israel, but it’s OUR country, not theirs, according to G-d’s will. The children of Avraham Avinu’s other son, Yishmael, have Jordan as their “state”. That was the part of Eretz Yisrael given to them. Don’t ever forget that fact.

How would the U.S. like it if another country’s government kept telling them where they can live and where they can’t live, throwing them out of their homes, settlements, etc. I thought everyone knew the Golden Rule, which states “Don’t do unto others what you don’t want them to do to you”. Seems many people forgot that.

Jews of Chicago and America – Think how you plan to vote in the upcoming election and how much it can hurt your fellow Jews in Israel before you mark your ballot. Elect a man who has tremendous experience and who is a true lover of the Jews and Eretz Yisrael. (That’s certainly not Barack Obama, notwithstanding his wearing a “kipah”, and praying at the Kotel (Western Wall) in Jerusalem, of course with a mob of photographers taking publicity shots of him all the way to show how pro-Israel he is all of a sudden!!!) That is John McCain and his running mate Sarah Palin who are true lovers of Eretz Yisrael and the Jewish people.

As an American citizen who has lived in Israel for the past 32 years, G-d willing, I, too, will be voting by absentee ballot from Israel for the best man in this election – a REPUBLICAN named John McCain, and I urge my fellow Jews to do the same. I am convinced that he would not only be best for Israel, but also the better man for America.

Okay – wow on your mom’s editor though. Reading his response makes me feel at least marginally better about the world.

I know, right? He is completely and totally weird and insane as a boss, but a really really great dude aside from that, with a hilarious writing style and great politics.
