Hey, thanks for your nice and insightful comments on my sad post of a few posts ago. Interesting stuff to mull over.
OK, back to my food world.
Oh, here is where I’m supposed to say that I’m not going to the store for a month and you can see why here. In order to keep myself honest, I’m documenting everything I eat. It’s simultaneously boring and obsessive-making to me. Very weird combo.
Went to the farmer’s market and stocked up. So I ate a lot of fruit and bread throughout the day.
And I had two of these babies:
For dinner I made a miso soup that looks disgusting from this photo but which was actually pretty good. CSA veggies and Aaron’s log-grown shiitakes and my own homemade miso. Sort of a triumph of DIY nutrition, really, that soup.
I ate it with non-local intentionally burnt sticky rice from a big bag I have in the freezer. I like the crusty layer that forms when you really scorch it.
